David joined a class for the first time last week. The preschool has not started yet. It was actually the Vacation Bible School (VBS). It was only for a week. David carpooled with another church family that lives 5 minutes from us. He was really excited. I didn't really know how and what he did the first 2 days because he wouldn't told me. Then the fourth day, I had to drive him there myself and I found out that he was super shy, not really participating in the group singing and he was nagging to go home. Gosh, he was totally a different kid. At home, he was so excited about going there and making friends.
I talked to our pastor's daughter, Grace, who was in charge of David's group and found out how David cried the first day, he wanted to go home. The second day, he got better. So I figured if I stay with him, he probably wouldn't join the class as he would without me. So I told him that Elizabeth could not stay because she was still a baby and I left. When I picked him up after class 3 hours later, he was fine and hyper and sweaty from running around. So it's good. He got to experience being in class. And I got to spend some alone time with Elizabeth.
By the way, while David was in class, I took Liz to a near by Barnes and Nobles. They have great A/C and a Starbucks to supply me with caffeinated drinks. I was happy and so was Liz. We were right on time for the story reading there, which was totally unexpected. Liz was good. She loved it. So I guess, it will be like this later when David's preschool starts.
