It has been crazy the past 3 days. I don't even know how I feel right now. I'm just so tired! First of all, I was very anxious about Elizabeth's surgery (to remove the skin tag on her right ear) scheduled on Friday morning. But then, I didn't even have time to worry about it or really prepare for it the day before the surgery. Because, James's dad suddenly called and told me that he was on his way over to Syracuse (from Buffalo) with his friend! It was a surprise indeed. If it wasn't for the surgery and if I actually had time to clean up and be ready for them, it would have been wonderful! I was so caught off guard that I didn't know what to do. Everything was just mumble jumble until they left today. I hope they'll come again, so that I will get the chance to make it up to them and be a better host. I feel so bad because I didn't even get to cook anything for them. My o my.
Speaking of the surgery, it went well. It was nothing big but they did have to put her to sleep. The entire procedure only took 30 minutes. I think Elizabeth knew what was going on because the night before, she couldn't sleep. She kept waking up and cried. I wonder if she was anxious. When the surgery was over, we knew it before the nurse came out to the waiting area to tell us. It was because Liz was crying so loud that I think the entire floor could hear her. The anesthesia was gone, she was uncomfortable and she didn't like the IV poking on her arm. Poor thing. It took us awhile to appease her. I am just glad that we got it over with. I hope it'll heal well and that she won't be scratching it.
Anyways, it has been stressful and sleepless for me. Stressful because of Liz and the visitors. Sleepless because of David. He had to share a bed with us the past two nights and he is a very restless sleeper!
Update: An ear (preauricular) tag is a small skin tag or pit in front of the outside part of the ear.

skin tag??? like a mole? poor baby! was it necessary to get it removed?
i am sure your father-in-law would understand your situation. you will have plenty of time to make it up for them, no worry ok?
