I am amazed by how quickly Liz picks up words lately. Even though she doesn't say them very accurately yet, she makes the sounds and she remembers names for different things and actions. Her very recent new words are: ca-ca (to wipe, rub), yu (fish), fei ji (airplane), po-po (grandma), gong-gong (grandpa). She even tried to make a sentence by saying: ma-ma, na! (mama, take this).
She is very good compared to David. David barely said anything till he turned 3. Now, he speaks very well, Chinese and Korean. He is picking up English here and there. He is learning to spell words. He is not very interested in numbers or math yet. He gets very impatient when I try to teach him about time on the clock. I always think that my Chinese is very limited. And now, it is very obvious and alarming sometimes. There are so many words that I don't know. It's sad that I can't teach more things to David. And he only knows 'armpit' in Indonesian... 'ketiak'. ay..ay.. I should look for books or maybe some educational videos to further educate myself. geez.
David and Elizabeth are having a cold. They are giving me a hard time at home. With them being sick, I don't really want to take them out. So, I'm stuck with cranky kids that are driving me crazy. I hope they will recover soon. I miss having some peaceful time at home. I'm so tired lately that I can't cook.
O yeah, facebook is great. Elisa got me hooked up with all my family back in Indonesia, Singapore and Shanghai. It's like being connected with my long lost family. I am so happy to find out how they are and see how they look like now. I miss them very much.
I let David baked some cookies a few days ago. Since I am not quite a baker myself, we only worked on a bag of cookie mix. He had a good time experimenting and making a mess. It's the experience that counts!
